it's friday!

so happy it's the weekend!

on the list o' fun:

<<< make a skirt. this material is some of my absolute favorite, thanks to my rad sister-in-law amanda.  she gave me her remnants and it's enough to make a fun stretchy skirt to go under my ever-growing belly.  skirts are the one thing that saves my life when preggy.  oh how i love them. 

<<< make more strawberry pancakes.  the girls and i had pancakes + a strawberry smoothie for breakfast one morning this week.  strawberry pancakes = happiness.

<<< weed my crazy yard of dandelions.  for the love-they are everywhere.  they take over and it's just not cool.  so i'm digging some out.  i did about 7 today, now i just have 34,589 to go!

<<< i really want to make some friendship bracelets.  for real.  this is a great tutorial, and i'm in a mood for some funky color.  but when am i not in the mood for funky color? that's a better question.

<<< and the best part of the weekend.......i get to go see the COUNTING CROWS!!!!!! but that deserves a post in and of itself, so hopefully i'll post something later in the weekend.  it's my early birthday present, and basically a piece of heaven on earth.

maya organizes the hallway

one day while i was doing some laundry, maya was busy bringing things up the stairs.

and getting things from the hall closet.

and bringing all the coats from our entry way closet up the stairs.

and organizing frames, shoes, and cleaning supplies.

and spreading out blankets and stacking books.

i love her creativity......and thought it was awesome.

but walking through it was a hazard, so she had to clean it all up.

that required her getting up early on a school morning to finish the task.  she didn't love that, but was very proud of her work. 

the first tooth gone

went to the dentist last week and discovered that she had a loose tooth!

so she wiggled it like crazy, and had evan and i wiggle it too.

on friday, i pulled it out for her, telling her that her tooth underneath was saying "hey, i want to come out!"

she thought it was so cool, and i was very proud of myself for thinking of something on the spot to distract her from yanking a tooth from her mouth.  she is ALL ABOUT DOING THINGS BY HERSELF!

sidenote: her best friend told her that the toothfairy brings money AND a toy.  seriously?  lame.  the toothfairy did bring her some sweet cash, and a little note that told her she could use the money to buy something she wanted, but no toys.  and she didn't care one bit.  hallelujah!

sometimes when evan and i try to to get a picture of us it's quite funny.

evan has issues keeping his eyes open, and that makes me laugh like crazy.

and that makes for some awesome pics.

easter 2012

it was a very happy weekend around here.  we invited 13 little peeps over to our house for an easter egg hunt/brunch on saturday morning.  the weather was a little chilly, but didn't pour rain, which we were grateful for.  and parents and kids had a great time, plus it was a good excuse to clean my whole house.  there is nothing like people coming over to get me motivated to clean everything-even the laundry room.  seriously, what is wrong with me?  oh yeah, i'm pregnant and have those irrational thoughts of someone looking in my laundry room. :) 

after the hunt we dyed eggs with the girls which was a huge success.  i loved the hues of the colors, and they thought we were cool parents, after we begged them to come and color the eggs. 

i had time to sew on saturday and made skirts for the ladies and sadly have no pics of them.  brynn's skirt is a tad bit frumpy so i'll have to alter it a bit before i take pics.  at church she looked like she had a large bum.  it was funny to witness.

sunday was great-church was really inspiring and thought provoking, and i am so grateful for my Savior.  we watched some great bible videos on lds.org, you ought to check them out.

spring at the fetters

been trying to figure out a few things on my camera, and am loving the signs of spring all around.

the rocks are from the north shore of lake superior and are the smoothest rocks i've held.  they sit on a little table outside our front door where the ladies can arrange them how they please, or in zoe's case throw them into the shrubs.

i love this time of year, the change of season, the new growth and the color.

contemplating what to do next

zoe sits by the front door every day and says "IDE, IDE, IDE!" meaning she wants to go outside.  usually this happens within thirty minutes of waking up.  and i thought maya loved being outside, but this lady has her beat.  she wants to be out no matter what the weather is doing outside.  and one day it just happened to be raining, so we put rain boots over pajamas (in zoe's case) and wandered out.  only after we were all outside did i see ALL THE PINK.  oh my.  but we had a good time, splashing in puddles, wandering on the grass, looking for worms, and touching the water.  kids have really taught me to take advantage of each day, and explore it, not just see it through a window.  to get out, and live in it.  and i'm pretty thankful for that.

30 weeks

am obsessed with belts as of late.
and loving my new do, thanks to my ladies my hair is a bit curlier and i love it.
am feeling 'large and in charge' and sometimes like a walrus.
can't wait to meet this little lady.
