We found out on Monday, that we are having another Little Lady! We are thrilled! She is due in right before Thanksgiving, so officially we're having a turkey. We did something really fun to find out the sex of this babe. We had our ultrasound, but told the sonographer we didn't want to know the sex. We then had our the sonographer call our friend and tell her the sex. That friend of ours made a cake for us that had pink inside, and later that night with all of our friends at a little park we had Maya cut into the cake to see what sex the baby was. It turned out to be a great way to celebrate baby numero dos. Unfortunately the ONLY pics we have are from a camera phone since some little person who will not be named broke our camera and we forgot the camcorder!

Happy Father's Day!
Why we love our Daddy:
*He is happy, and loves to make me laugh
*He lets me drive the car just for fun
*He takes me to fun toy stores just because
*He watches hours of Wonderpets and Cars with me
*He reads me stories
*He teaches me to pray and reads scriptures to me
*He thinks I look cutest in a pony tail
*He rocks me to sleep
*He says to Mom all the time "look how beautiful she is" about me
*He lets me visit him at school
*He loves me
We love you Evan! Happy Father's Day to the best and most wonderful Daddy we know.
Love,
Maya & Amber

Maya

Maya had some pictures taken a few weeks ago by a photography student at Southern Virginia University (for free!). I thought I would post a few of my favorites. Amber and Maya are out of town visiting Casey, Ali, and Gabby in New Jersey, so I am missing them and looking at lots of photos to try to fill the void. Enjoy.

This is how we plan on spending our summer

The beautiful secluded FREE pool

Here in Lexington I've met some fabulous people. One of which is Peggy. She lives out in the country in the most beautiful setting and happens to have a pool. She and I became friends and when I was pregnant with Maya she let me swim here all summer, and would bring me lemonade and scooby snacks to eat. Now, Maya and I have been twice this week and it's a haven. It's free and the company is amazing and the views spectacular. And Maya gets to play with two dogs, it doesn't get any better than that.

The face says it all.....
Dear Parents,
I hate your stinkin' guts for making me ride in the car for 10 1/2 hours. But at least I can watch Wonderpets and Cars.
Love,
Maya

The week after graduation, we went up to see Evan's family in Indiana. It's a long drive up there, but thanks to the miracle of a portable dvd player and the movie cars, we made it! Maya loved seeing all the animals, bunnies, cats and birds, and we were able to walk back to the lake behind Evan's parents house. It was gorgeous, everything is so green and beautiful. We saw Evan's sister and her family and Evan's aunt and uncle and grandparens. We took lots of walks, and ate great food.
Grandpa and Grandma
Maya and Grandpa watching Wonderpets, Maya's most favorite thing to watch. Grandpa would drift off to sleep and Maya would wander over to him and touch his arm or his cheek just to make sure.
"I DRIVE." Maya's newest phrase. This is all she ever wants to do now. Good thing Grandpa is nice and plays with me out in the car.
Grandma and Maya in her sandbox
My parents came out for Evan's graduation and we had the best time. They are so generous to come all the way out here, and fly into a close airport and then spend money on us! Thank you Mom and Dad for being so giving and supporting us! We loved having you here. We went to all the graduation festivities, Mom and I went walking several times, we hiked Crabtree Falls, ate and famous Five Guys, toured Lexington, and also had time to do a few projects. :) I had bought a sandbox for Maya at a little garage sale and then had no way of getting it home. Well a month later...we finally get around to getting it, and then we also got a "Buffaway" horse for Maya frome a friend. We fit Buffaway in the car and looked only slightly white trash taking it home. :) But I love my Dad because he just knows how to make everything work. He noticed that our hubcaps were peeling a little and so we bought a wire brush to scrub them, and then we painted them and it's like a whole new car! Thanks Dad! And thanks Mom for all the both of you do. We love you!

We thought gradution day was such a long day off when we started law school in the fall of 2005, and now it's all over and done. I can't believe how quickly the time went. Graduation was fantastic, a whole weekend of festivities. At Washington and Lee they have a long-standing tradition to give out walking sticks to the law graduates. And we had fireworks and a band the night before graduation, which were amazing. So loud and close though that Maya cried and so she and I watched them from the car. :) Graduation day was so nice, the whole ceremony was only an hour and a half, heaven when you have a toddler and the speaker was William Webster, who was once director of the CIA and the FBI. Just a great way to celebrate the end of law school and wonderful memories we have of Lexington.

John Butler Trio
Since Amber is slacking and I have considerably more time on my hands, you have to put up with posts from me. This invariably means music. This next one is another great instrumental guitar piece. If you can get past the uber hippy dialog at the beginning, I think you'll really enjoy it.
